Master of Public Health, B.S. Exercise Science
Mckenna started working as a fitness trainer in 2011 and has since climbed her way to the top of a hyper-competitive health & wellness industry. She has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Towson University, where she was a Division 1 student-athlete, and a Master in Public Health degree from the University of Alabama, where she was awarded the Outstanding Master’s Student in Health Sciences award. She attained her Certified Personal Trainer certification through The National Council on Strength and Fitness, and she is also a certified Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting.
Mckenna was regularly featured on ABC 7 News Channel 8’s Good Morning Washington as a fitness expert and also appeared on News Channel 8’s Let’s Talk Live. She co-founded Elite Wellness Performance and Recovery in 2018 to help people realize the importance of overall health in athletics and everyday living. She also started a YouTube channel geared toward showing viewers not only exercises but how to execute the exercises properly in hopes to motivate others to choose a healthy and active lifestyle.
In 2021, Mckenna was named to the Team USA handball team and constantly continues to set a good example for others by maintaining her own level of fitness, regardless of if she’s competing in a sport or not. Promoting a healthy, happy lifestyle and regularly speaking with clients about their physical health, as well as their mental health, is Mckenna’s passion. She truly believes that health is multidimensional and that taking a holistic approach to wellness is the best way to initiate change.
